Whitney.

Music has played a huge part in my life and I've spent most of my life thus far working in the industry.

Discovering Whitney Houston is my first musical memory. I was four years old when her second record, Whitney, was released and I had a book about her. It must have been released with the record; I just remember it having lots of pictures of this incredible woman who I just adored. I have an extraordinarily clear memory of clutching my Whitney book in the kitchen of my aunt and uncle's house.

I loved 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody' as much as a small person self-named Ownself who liked wearing purple eyeshadow possibly can.

That love for Ms. Houston never waned, I still re-watch The Bodyguard and sing along to 'I Have Nothing' when nobody is watching or listening.

She will be missed, miss Whitney.

Ladypad Afternoon Tea.

Oooo I held a little ladypad afternoon tea on Sunday. I was a wee bit (read, gigantically) hungover but these sugary treats were a lifesaver.

Civilised conversation with civilised chicks. We're going to learn how to play bridge, too!

Happy Birthday, Brother.

I have only one sibling: a brother. His name is John and he's three years older than me. He is very, very tall with ice-blue eyes and a wicked sense of humour.

Today is his birthday. We spent the evening together, just us two - a rare event - and it was just lovely. I baked him a cake (yes, a rhubarb and cinnamon tea-cake) and we went out for dinner in a lovely courtyard with copious amounts of rope lighting. Which, of course, suits me just fine! It seems so strange to think almost 30 years have passed since I arrived into his world. But he's still wearing the same football colours (just in a slightly larger size...)

Happy birthday big brother. xx

Lana Del Rey.

Lana Del Rey has cancelled all touring plans for the near future after this recent performance on Saturday Night Live which was universally panned by critics.

So, until she reschedules some dates for my far-off shores this is going to have to do in the meantime. I think I like her, she's a bit odd. My favourite kind of anything.

My Week With Marilyn.

She was such an enigma.
I'm so looking forward to seeing this.

Almost Full Moon.

I've been feeling 'off' for days. Funky, grouchy, moody, bitchy, whiney, scatty - whatever you want to call it. Off. Then I looked up into the gorgeous night sky tonight and realised that it's a full moon. Well, officially it's tomorrow morning but it's close enough.

So, I'm going to blame my off-ness on the moon and try to get into tomorrow with a bright face.

Sometimes the world is hard. And I'm a wee bit tired of the world this week loves. But no doubt, next week I'll love it and want to kiss it and squeeze it and be tra-la-la-ing all over town.

My evening stroll with the folks post-dinner from Fitzroy to Collingwood helped my weary blood-pumper a tad however. I snapped this little beauty along the way.

Ok, world, let's have another round tomorrow. Sleep tight xo xo.

Feist.

I saw the gorgeous Leslie Feist perform tonight in Melbourne. It was a beautiful end to a rather shitty day to be honest. Sometimes people just ask for too much, don't you think?

I'm still building up a few shields. Luckily the day improved as the day went on. Japanese dinner with a happy friend and ending the night with this lass helped. Muchly.

She's always incredible live - what a voice. This is one of my favs. Golly it's getting late lovers. Night night. xo

Tallangatta Open Day.

You may remember me talking about the fete I'm organising for my hometown? Well we're now in full swing my loves. It feels so decadent to be allowed to organise a fete as a job!

And I think the stallholders may feel the same because we have so many wonderful people signing up with even more wonderful ideas.

In my head I can see the whole scene. A clown making balloon animals, the mobile farm where countless ducklings will be strangled-with-love by little tackers, too much sugar, haybales, perhaps some terrible busking. It's going to be magical.
